Wait on the Lord

Inspirational Message Of The Day:

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength"
- Isaiah 40:31.

Like most people, do you struggle with patience? Do you wonder why our Father doesn’t give us the things we pray about? Truthfully, our heavenly Father doesn’t act according to our immediate desires because He’s trying to teach you something and because He knows what is best for you. He is teaching you to wait on Him. To better understand what I am saying, it would be safe to say that God has His own timetable. His timing is always perfect.

Have you every wanted something but did not know if it was God’s will. Sometimes our own self will leads us into our own destructive ways. If you cannot say no to your own desires you may end up enslaved by them. God wants for us to wait on Him to provide in His perfect will for our lives. We serve a God who is omniscient (all knowing) he alone knows what is best. You can trust that if He ask you to wait, He has something more wonderful in mind that you could never think or imagine.

More than a conquer

"Nay in all these things we are more than conquerors, though him that loved us."
- Romans 8:37
The word conquer in Greek means victory, to vanish on. According to Romans 8:37, we are to walk in victory! To be conquers, we have to conquer. To be victorious we have to fight the battle to conquer! There will indeed be giants in your life, but with God on your side you have the power to slay every giant that gets in your way. We are in a spiritual battle ever day of our lives. Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rules of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in High Places." God shows us in His Word that we war not against flesh and blood but power and principalities, but through all that Satan throws at us, whether it be doubt, fear, depression, financial trouble, sickness, any distraction we can be more than conquerors.

We are only made conquers when we realize how to overcome the circumstances in our lives! When you conquer something it belongs to you. They can’t take it back unless you allow for that to happen. Don’t give in! Keep pressing on! Fight the good fight.

Turn self-doubt into no-doubt

Turn self-doubt into no-doubt

Many impose limits on themselves. These are the self imposed limitations or as Napoleon Hill called, “prison.” Risk taking is the willingness to make mistakes, advocate unconventional or unpopular positions, or tackle extremely challenging problems without obvious solutions. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It is the willingness to jump in with both feet. Doubt and fear will prevent you from taking risk. Risk taking means overcoming your doubts and fear about failure and, “pressing on towards the mark of the high calling of Jesus Christ”, Phil 3:14 which is the goal of life. Never be afraid to fail.
There are many people who took their great invention, discovery, the book that was never written to the grave with them because of doubt and fear. The worse kind of doubt and fear is directed at self. Self doubt puts the brakes on you chasing your dream. It is one of the biggest barriers to living an abundant purpose driven life and it sabotages your dreams even before you get started. Self doubt will convince you that you are not smart enough, pretty or handsome enough, and that you don’t have what it takes to succeed in life. You will never discover what you could have been because of doubt and fear. The moment you think, “I can’t”, doubt and fear will cloud and obscure your judgment. Doubt and fear will keep you imprisoned or as Napoleon Hill wrote, “Most people condemn themselves to prison all their lives despite the fact that they carry the keys to their prison without knowing they possess them. The prison consists in the self-imposed limitations they set up in their minds, or permit others to set for them.” Peradventure about your abilities, skills, talent, qualifications and resourcefulness will hamper your ability to achieve self-fulfillment and to move forward in ones life.

The Path to Peace

The Path to Peace is a deepening and lasting relationship with our Lord and our Savior. Only then can you have peace. Only He can bring peace in a twinkling of a eye that calms your quivering spirit. Peace like a thawing river emerging from it’s winter sleep. Open up your spirit, mind and body and allow God to take you from the desert of worldly pleasure to an oasis of peace.

If we took a survey as to what people desire most out of life and what their hopes and dreams revolve around, the list would probably include things like good health; financial prosperity; healthy relationships; rewarding work. And who could argue with any of those things? Who wouldn’t want to be healthy and wealthy, with a great career, a loving family and friends? But there’s a more fundamental need we have; a deeper desire, and that’s the desire for personal peace. Peace of mind. Freedom from fear, worry, uncertainty, and distress. Most people, in their daily lives, are searching for peace; doing what they can to avoid the painful turbulence of life. They turn to external things to fill a void of missing peace. They indulge in behaviors that temporally satisfy them.. And they choose to enter into relationships with people hoping that they will bring peace. In other words, one of the strongest motives behind the way we live is a desire for personal peace. In general, people fail to find lasting peace because they are looking for it in the wrong place. And if your peace is built on the wrong foundation; if it’s built on the shifting winds of circumstance, it cannot last.

"Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way."
– 2 Thessalonians 3:16

Without Christ in ones life who came to give us abundant life, something will always be amiss. Spacious homes, fancy cars, big boats, designer clothes, the latest gadgets etc. cannot buy you lasting peace. There are people who have everything and nothing at all. The missing piece is peace itself. Like a puzzle with a missing piece, it is not complete until you find that one last piece. So if peace is the missing piece in your life, try getting alone with the Prince of Peace.

Whatever its ultimate cause, the Path to Peace may be found as we invite God to continue His transformational work of renewing your mind.

“Until you are at peace with who you are, you’ll never be content with what you have.”

“Overcoming negative thinking starts with the right attitude”

"If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God,
and others will approve of you, too."
- Romans 14:18 (NLT)

There are a lot of people including Christians that need a little attitude adjustment and some need a complete overhaul. Sometimes our attitude just simply stinks. We stink up the place with our negative attitude punctuated with a capital “S.” I get after my son’s when they get a case of a bad attitude. And I tell them to leave it at the door. Attitude affects everything that you do, and a bad attitude will keep you from experiencing an abundant life. Attitude dictates how good or how bad your day will be. The good thing is that you have the power to control your attitude. You can choose to have a positive or negative attitude. The proper attitude is just as important as having a right relationship with God. How can someone expect to worship the true and living God if they have the wrong attitude? When we truly accept who God is and who we are, there is no other response possible than to have a healthy attitude of humility and a willingness to trust God in everything. What ought to be our attitude? The attitude for us to take is that of trusting and believing in the living God, His promises and the power of His might.

To overcome negative thinking you have to start with the right attitude. You may have heard the saying, “Attitude is Everything!” That’s right, attitude is everything. You cannot change how you think unless you change your attitude. Attitude is a complex mental state involving beliefs and feelings, values and dispositions to act in a certain way. In laymen’s terms it simply means that it is the state of your mind. The state of your mind can either be negative or positive. There are only two choices when it comes to attitude: negative or positive. To overcome your negative thinking you are going to have to change your attitude. It was Pattie La Belle who sang, “I got a New Attitude.” She sure said that right. There are some folks who need a new attitude. There are some folks who need to trade in their old attitude for a new one. Some folks need to go shopping on EBay or Craig’s List and buy a new attitude or order one from the Sears catalog. Some might consider going to the recycling center and buying a recycled attitude. Attitude is everything. The right attitude is the difference between being a winner or a loser, a success or failure, a victim or the victor. If you are going to take the shackle of negative thinking off your mind you must learn to develop a good attitude.

A good attitude has the ability to make even the worst of circumstances at least bearable. And a bad attitude can make the best of a good situation miserable. When Paul and Silas where in prison, they could have given up and accepted doom and gloom. No, instead they went about praising God and witnessing to a Roman soldier, “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them”, Acts 16:25. They had church, right there in the midst of a dusty dirty prison cell. I can imagine that prison came alive because of Paul and Silas would not be denied getting their praise on. My personal declaration is that God is so good. Paul and Silas made the best of a bad situation. They were able to turn negative into a positive because they had the right attitude.

“Walking in the Spirit”

“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit”

- Gal 5:25

Walking in the Spirit means to walk in the presence of God, “And He walks with me and He talks with me and he tells me I am His own.” How amazing is that? God is a Spirit therefore we fellowship with God in the Spirit. When you walk in the Spirit you begin to share your thoughts, feelings, fears and joy of your trusting relationship with God. As you take each step, you are empowered by the Spirit of God to conquer your doubts, worries, anxieties and your fears. You can go to our heavenly Father and He will show you to all truth.

When the mind is renewed, it will walk in the spirit rather than walk according to the flesh. The renewed mind recognizes the dangers and pitfalls of what walking in the flesh will do and the consequences thereof. The renewed mind, minds the things of the spirit. Walking in the Spirit suggest that a person is focused on the things of the Spirit. You stay the course and do not deviate from the left or right. Like a thoroughbred race horse with blinders on, it sees nothing to its left or right but looks straight ahead like tunnel vision. Is your mind renewed and are you walking in the Spirit?

When you walk in the Spirit you renew your mind. It is a relationship where we become dependent on God. It is this work that becomes so radical so demonstrative and so effective in our life, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord”, 2 Cor 3:18. Your mind is thus renewed when you are transformed into the image and likeness of Christ. This transformation process works by walking in the spirit so that the Holy Spirit will renew your mind, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." Eph 2:10. You will begin to think, feel, and act more like Jesus. This is what is meant by Christ-like. Christ desires for all who know Him to be like Him. We are born imitators of Christ. The more knowledge and understanding we have of Christ, the more we become like Him.

As you get to know God and His Word, He reveals things about ourselves, about Him and about others. It is through this relationship that we know God. The more you read your Bible; the more you will learn about God and become reconciled to Him. Thus walk in the spirit with Him through the Word. The ministry of reconciliation means that we are to have the same relationship with one another as the Father has with His Son.

“Many are saved but their mind is not saved”

“They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!”
- 2 Tim 3:5

It behooves me to think that many say they are saved, but do not do the will of the Father. Many will admit to being saved but are not saved in the mind. If your mind has been renewed by the will and Word of God, you not only talk the talk, but you walk the walk. God wants to save you my brother and my sister to the uttermost, meaning your spirit, body and yes, your mind. It serves you very little if your body has been renewed and you’re mind is still worldly. This causes an internal war between the flesh and your spirit. A mind wavering between two worlds is in constant conflict and chaos.

There are people who profess to being saved, yet they conform to the ways of the world. What we profess with our mouth and what we practice with our living should line up together. Anyone can say that they are saved. But when you put words into action, this is what separates the saved from the unsaved, the folks on fire for the Lord, those who are lukewarm, and those who are sold out for Jesus. In life we encounter many people that confess Christ and the fact that they are religious etc...they know all the religious rituals, what to say and do but when it comes to having a personal relationship with JESUS this clearly shines light on their illusion of the interpretation. They have an affair with God which is on and off again, in and out, never really making a commitment to the relationship. It is what you do when no one is looking that will determine if you are saved. There are people who appear to be righteous and have an outward appearance of being saved but if the truth be known, are not. It is like a stage play, they know how to act and what to say like role playing. People are attending church activities, yet they do so without a relationship with God. They know how to talk the talk as Christians do. Everything about them about them leads you to believe that they are saved. But appearance alone is not going to save anyone. There is a difference in men/women of God vs. men/women of the world. The Bible talks about people, “having a form of Godliness”, 2 Timothy 3:5. There are many who call themselves Christians that display an outward appearance, but inwardly their mind is not saved. They are spiritually and morally lukewarm. There are people who have an appearance of being saved but are not saved in their mind. I call these people, “Christians under construction.”

“To many of us have a Christian vocabulary rather than a Christian experience”
- Charles F. Banning

Sad is that person’s plight that wears the badge of a Christian on their sleeve but has never been quickened by the Holy Spirit. There is vitality and the journey of wonderment in knowing the true and living God who is multifaceted and multidimensional and glitters brilliantly in living colors. There is a difference in knowing God and experiencing God! People should see and hear that you are a Christian without you wearing a badge on your sleeve or a name tag on your blouse or shirt.
