More than a conquer

"Nay in all these things we are more than conquerors, though him that loved us."
- Romans 8:37
The word conquer in Greek means victory, to vanish on. According to Romans 8:37, we are to walk in victory! To be conquers, we have to conquer. To be victorious we have to fight the battle to conquer! There will indeed be giants in your life, but with God on your side you have the power to slay every giant that gets in your way. We are in a spiritual battle ever day of our lives. Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rules of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in High Places." God shows us in His Word that we war not against flesh and blood but power and principalities, but through all that Satan throws at us, whether it be doubt, fear, depression, financial trouble, sickness, any distraction we can be more than conquerors.

We are only made conquers when we realize how to overcome the circumstances in our lives! When you conquer something it belongs to you. They can’t take it back unless you allow for that to happen. Don’t give in! Keep pressing on! Fight the good fight.

Turn self-doubt into no-doubt

Turn self-doubt into no-doubt

Many impose limits on themselves. These are the self imposed limitations or as Napoleon Hill called, “prison.” Risk taking is the willingness to make mistakes, advocate unconventional or unpopular positions, or tackle extremely challenging problems without obvious solutions. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It is the willingness to jump in with both feet. Doubt and fear will prevent you from taking risk. Risk taking means overcoming your doubts and fear about failure and, “pressing on towards the mark of the high calling of Jesus Christ”, Phil 3:14 which is the goal of life. Never be afraid to fail.
There are many people who took their great invention, discovery, the book that was never written to the grave with them because of doubt and fear. The worse kind of doubt and fear is directed at self. Self doubt puts the brakes on you chasing your dream. It is one of the biggest barriers to living an abundant purpose driven life and it sabotages your dreams even before you get started. Self doubt will convince you that you are not smart enough, pretty or handsome enough, and that you don’t have what it takes to succeed in life. You will never discover what you could have been because of doubt and fear. The moment you think, “I can’t”, doubt and fear will cloud and obscure your judgment. Doubt and fear will keep you imprisoned or as Napoleon Hill wrote, “Most people condemn themselves to prison all their lives despite the fact that they carry the keys to their prison without knowing they possess them. The prison consists in the self-imposed limitations they set up in their minds, or permit others to set for them.” Peradventure about your abilities, skills, talent, qualifications and resourcefulness will hamper your ability to achieve self-fulfillment and to move forward in ones life.

The Path to Peace

The Path to Peace is a deepening and lasting relationship with our Lord and our Savior. Only then can you have peace. Only He can bring peace in a twinkling of a eye that calms your quivering spirit. Peace like a thawing river emerging from it’s winter sleep. Open up your spirit, mind and body and allow God to take you from the desert of worldly pleasure to an oasis of peace.

If we took a survey as to what people desire most out of life and what their hopes and dreams revolve around, the list would probably include things like good health; financial prosperity; healthy relationships; rewarding work. And who could argue with any of those things? Who wouldn’t want to be healthy and wealthy, with a great career, a loving family and friends? But there’s a more fundamental need we have; a deeper desire, and that’s the desire for personal peace. Peace of mind. Freedom from fear, worry, uncertainty, and distress. Most people, in their daily lives, are searching for peace; doing what they can to avoid the painful turbulence of life. They turn to external things to fill a void of missing peace. They indulge in behaviors that temporally satisfy them.. And they choose to enter into relationships with people hoping that they will bring peace. In other words, one of the strongest motives behind the way we live is a desire for personal peace. In general, people fail to find lasting peace because they are looking for it in the wrong place. And if your peace is built on the wrong foundation; if it’s built on the shifting winds of circumstance, it cannot last.

"Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way."
– 2 Thessalonians 3:16

Without Christ in ones life who came to give us abundant life, something will always be amiss. Spacious homes, fancy cars, big boats, designer clothes, the latest gadgets etc. cannot buy you lasting peace. There are people who have everything and nothing at all. The missing piece is peace itself. Like a puzzle with a missing piece, it is not complete until you find that one last piece. So if peace is the missing piece in your life, try getting alone with the Prince of Peace.

Whatever its ultimate cause, the Path to Peace may be found as we invite God to continue His transformational work of renewing your mind.

“Until you are at peace with who you are, you’ll never be content with what you have.”
